Two new projects starting: AI-Plan4EU and Humane-AI Net

Since early January 2021, I am working on two new super interesting European projects: AI-Plan4EU and Humane-AI Net.

Automated Planning for the European On-Demand Platform

You might not know about it, but this project has a direct connection with another European project: AI4EU. The goal of AI4EU is to develop a European “on-demand” platform to allow users to access AI modules and connect them together in order to solve their use-cases. AI-Plan4EU aims at bringing automated planning and scheduling in this platform so that its users can access existing state-of-the-art planning technologies to solve their use-cases.

The platform will be validated on use-case both from within and outside the consortium. My role in this project will be to help with application bridges, by eliciting the requirements of the companies in their use-cases.

European Network of Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence

The Humane-AI Net project is a bit special, because its overall goal is to create a network of researchers and collaborations on the topic of Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. This goal will be achieved through various actions, whose results will be made available on the AI4EU platform.

The project is oriented around 5 pillars:

  1. Human-in-the-loop machine learning, reasoning, and planning
  2. Multimodal perception and modeling
  3. Human-AI collaboration and interaction
  4. Societal awareness
  5. Legal and ethical bases for responsible AI

My interest lies mostly in the the human-AI collaboration and interaction, and I am also task leader.
